In April 2022, members of the East U.S. Chapter of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation began to carry out the “Clean and Green1 Project in cooperation with the state government in the Oxford Circle area of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

At the junction of Cranford Avenue, Loretto Avenue, and Gilham Street is a triangular vacant lot that had been neglected for decades. There was a lot of trash everywhere, so it always looked unpleasant.

From April to mid-August, WeLoveU members reclaimed the vacant lot and created the “WeLoveU Park.” After reclaiming the land, the members planted more than a hundred shrubs, flowers, and grass to make it a place where local residents can rest.

“The creation of parks and green spaces has a tremendous positive impact on the community. I would like to thank the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation for helping us build the park. Together with WeLoveU, we were able to achieve this result. I will do my best to make it a clean place.”

This project was supported by state funds.

In April of last year, State Senator Christine Tartaglione announced a fiscal support for the “Clean and Green” Project and said, “The WeLoveU found the practical way to utilize the neglected area that was not taken care of for a long time. We are pleased to provide the State Federal Fund for a valuable work.”

The WeLoveU will continue the Clean WORLD Movement
through various methods such as street cleanups and creating parks
so that local communities can enjoy a safe and pleasant environment.
