Making a Warm and Comfortable Home

In the biting cold of minus ten degrees Celsius, snowflakes danced around in a swirling waltz. Undeterred by the frosty weather, WeLoveU members visited the house of an elderly person in Songrim-dong, Dong-gu, Incheon, Korea. Inside the poorly lit dwelling, dust had settled everywhere, and mold stained the walls due to moisture. Household items lay corroded and rusted.
The elderly house owner was deeply troubled by the dismal living conditions, particularly for his ailing wife who spent her days in the chilly and shabby room. Despite running a small shop, his earnings barely covered household expenses, let alone home repairs.
When the news of WeLoveU’s assistance reached him, tears of gratitude welled up in his eyes. The heartwarming volunteer effort over the two-day Residential Environment Improvement Project from January 19 to 20 not only chased away the bitter cold but also filled his heart with hope.
Speak Out of Your Heart

“Despite the many repairs needed around my house, what can I do when times are tough? Even if living conditions are uncomfortable, I’m unable to address them myself, leaving me only with worries. I’m truly grateful for the assistance you’re providing.”
The elderly house owner wanted to remain in this house for a long time, having lived here for nearly 10 years. Consequently, his determination to renovate the house intensified. Members empathized with him, who had endured discomfort for such an extended period. They labored diligently to ensure that he and his family would soon enjoy a comfortable living environment.

Before and After Repair

“Is This Really My Home?”
As the members worked swiftly and efficiently, the house transformed in no time. It became a comfortable and cozy space where the family could relax. The elderly owner looked around in disbelief at the changes in the house, expressing gratitude to the members multiple times.

“I never even considered repairing the house, but having WeLoveU take care of it feels like I’ve received an immense favor. It’s like I owe them a debt of gratitude. It feels surreal that this is truly my home. It’s like having a brand-new house, and the warmth it brings is truly comforting.”
