Donation of Relief Supplies to Victims of Hurricanes Eta and Iota

In November 2020, Hurricanes Eta and Iota swept across Central America. Honduras was also hit hard, and more than 4 million people suffered great damage. The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation immediately set out to help Honduras in cooperation with the Honduran Embassy in Korea and the Permanent Contingency Commission [COPECO] of Honduras. In July, Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah promised the Honduran Ambassador to Korea to provide relief supplies worth 30,000 USD, and the WeLoveU prepared 99,200 face masks and about 500 educational kits consisting of backpacks and school supplies. The members in various parts of Korea also donated clothes, daily necessities, and other supplies.

On December 3, 2021, over 160 WeLoveU members rolled up their sleeves to volunteer packaging relief supplies in the early morning at a training institute in Okcheon, Chungbuk, South Korea. The sorting out and packaging of the donated items lasted until 5 p.m. Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah visited to encourage the members and packaged the relief supplies together. That day, a total of 1,275 boxes of relief supplies—enough to fill two shipping containers—were prepared to be sent to Honduras. The members hoped that the love of a mother contained in the relief supplies would reach Honduras safely and give hope and comfort to many victims.
