Donation of 8,000 face masks, 4,000 pairs of medical gloves, and 330 digital thermometers to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Thailand
On December 19, Thailand was plunged into chaos. From March, the government had extended the status of emergency eight times, so they had maintained the single-digit number of COVID-19 cases. However, on the 19th, 548 confirmed cases occurred within a day. It was because one infected woman in 60s at a local fish market spread the virus to the village. Afterwards, intensive tests were conducted on foreign workers, leading to hundreds of confirmed cases, and people’s anxiety about infection got worsened. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], which is in charge of the prevention of COVID-19, also was in chaos due to the sudden surge of COVID-19 confirmed cases.
Amidst the quarantine of the whole town with many confirmed cases, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the “WeLoveU”) members rolled up their sleeves to help the government’s prevention efforts. They decided to deliver safety supplies to the CDC to help quickly reduce the spread of infectious diseases in Thailand.

At the end of the year, on December 30, the WeLoveU members delivered the safety supplies they had prepared wholeheartedly to the CDC. They donated 8,000 face masks, 4,000 pairs of medical gloves, and 330 digital thermometers. On that day, Dr. Primma Prempreri, Deputy Head of the CDC, attended the ceremony. After the ceremony, he said, “I would like to thank the WeLoveU Chairwoman and the members for helping with disease prevention for the people of Thailand. The WeLoveU has made the environment safe, so everyone has become happy.” He hoped that the WeLoveU members and Koreas people would all be safe and healthy from the COVID-19.
On that day, the CDC delivered a certificate of gratitude to the WeLoveU, appreciating for supporting the country in the national emergency.
