Donation of 747 sets of hygiene goods and 20,000,000 KRW [appr. 18,000 USD]

As the COVID-19 pandemic has been prolonged, there have been about 330,000 confirmed cases in Jordan as of February 2021. In order to prevent the spread of the infectious disease, tough measures such as curfew and overall telecommuting continued, making life more difficult for the vulnerable and refugees in Jordan. Consequently, the Jordanian government established organizations to relieve the socio-economic damage caused by COVID-19. Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization [JHCO] is also in charge of supporting the vulnerable.
The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation, which has been helping out Syrian refugees in Jordan in cooperation with the Jordanian Embassy in Korea and with JHCO, decided to support them. On January 26, the donation ceremony to support Jordan with protective equipment against COVID-19 and medical expenses for patients with intractable diseases was held at the headquarters of the WeLoveU, located in Pangyo, Gyeonggi-do, Korea. This was attended by Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, board members of the WeLoveU, H.E. Adel Mohammad Adaileh the Jordanian Ambassador to Korea and his wife.

On the day, Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah promised to provide 747 sets of hygiene products (worth 20,000 USD) for the prevention of COVID-19 and medical expenses of 20,000,000 KRW [appr. 18,000 USD] to the Jordanian Embassy in Korea. The medical expenses will be used to transfer the Jordanian patients with incurable diseases, who suddenly became sick while staying in Korea, to their home country and treating their illnesses.
“I am happy to be able to support them even in the difficult situation of the COVID-19 crisis,” said Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, expressing her will to constantly help them out with the love of a family. H.E. Adel Mohammad Adaileh the Jordanian Ambassador responded, “The WeLoveU has provided us with what we just needed. The WeLoveU’s love for the world always sets a good example. I believe that such a helping hand will make our future bright.”

Meanwhile, JHCO in Jordan prepared sets of hygiene goods with the support of the WeLoveU. They thoroughly packed face masks, hand sanitizers, soaps, shampoo, and detergents for their neighbors to be safe from COVID-19 in their daily lives. On the 27th, the WeLoveU’s COVID-19 prevention goods delivery ceremony was held in Ashrafieh Cultural Complex, Amman. In the presence of the WeLoveU members and the JHCO staff, sets of hygiene goods were delivered to 50 people. The remaining 697 sets of hygiene goods were delivered to the socially vulnerable groups and Syrian refugees in Amman, Irbid, Mafraq, Madaba, Jerash, and Ajloun on February 2 and 3.
The WeLoveU will continue to help out the neighbors in difficulties in cooperation with governments and relief organizations, so that nobody gets left out from the COVID-19 response due to economic difficulties.
