In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, various activities were carried out around the world to reduce carbon emissions by conserving electricity such as a light-off event.
The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (hereinafter “WeLoveU”) held the Pull the Plug Challenge for a month in April to prevent standby power from being wasted when an appliance is not used.
According to the Korea Climate and Environment Network, if a person unplugs unused appliances for a month, an average of 1,050 g [37 oz] of carbon can be reduced.
This is as effective as planting 0.15 tree.
Members from Korea, Nepal, Bolivia, India, Ecuador, Cambodia, and the United States participated in the Pull the Plug Challenge. The members were pleased that they made a good habit of saving energy and that they also reduced their energy bills.
👍 Good Habits to Protect the Earth 👍

When I went out, I unplugged most of the appliances in my house, but the set-top box was always on. From now on, I will turn off set-top box, too. Since I can protect the earth and save the electricity bill, I will practice this diligently even if it is a little inconvenient.
