Making a Cozy Home
Even a tiring daily routine can be overcome if you have a cozy home to return to,
where you can rest your body and mind.
To help make the homes of our neighbors in need comfortable,
WeLoveU members in Ulsan stepped up. From February 1 to March 1,
they improved residential environments of four families in Dong-gu and Jung-gu,
supporting their bright future.
Before Residential Environment Improvement Project
Family A
A middle-aged father living with his child who has a severe disability, lost his sight due to illness and could no longer care for the home. A thorough house cleaning was urgently needed to ensure the family’s hygiene and health.
Family B
A single mother raising her child with a disability had been unable to resolve various safety issues in her old home. The sheet around the gas stove was vulnerable to fire, and the deteriorating lower cabinet of the sink looked like it might collapse. They were needed to be replaced.
Family C
Last year, an elderly person’s home was completely destroyed in a major fire. Although the house was barely repaired, it wasn’t possible to comfortably rest without replacing the wallpaper and flooring. Wallpaper and flooring installation was needed.
Family D
A mother who could not work due to illness had been unable to fix the old bathroom. There was a risk of falling of the corroded bathroom tiles, and the toilet was broken, requiring comprehensive repairs.
How WeLoveU Worked
Family A
They cleaned the messy house and sorted out piled-up trash for recycling.
Family B
They removed fire-prone wallpaper and installed new tiles, and also replaced the worn-out sink.
Family C
They completely hung new wallpapers and laid down new flooring.
Family D
They replaced old tiles and toilet with new ones.
How Has It Changed?
The neighbors expressed joy and gratitude upon seeing their homes
made safe and clean, thanking the members repeatedly.
Thank you so much. I couldn’t have managed alone, but WeLoveU helped me.
When my acquaintances came to my house,
they would see the bathroom and worry that I would get hurt.
Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, thank you for creating a better environment.
WeLoveU Delivers Love
WeLoveU members deliver messages of love to their neighbors.
I hope you will live
brightly and cheerfully
in your clean and tidy home.
I am glad and grateful
to have offered a small hope
to our neighbors who are starting anew.
I believe you will overcome
any difficulties in the future.
Cheer up!
May your days ahead be filled
with happiness. Always stay healthy.
WeLoveU’s “Residential Environment Improvement Project” to take care of households, the smallest unit in community, is in line with the eleventh goal of the SDGs, “Sustainable Cities and Communities.”
WeLoveU will continue to care for our neighbors and share love with them so that no one is left out.
