A New Life to Children Who Are Our Hope for the Future.
On Thursday October 9th, 2003, a fund donating ceremony was held to help two brothers, Won Seong-hwan and Won Jun-hwan.
Older brother Seong-hwan is suffering from chronic renal failure because of kidney problem. He is now in the first grade even though he is nine years old because he enrolled one year late due to his illness. He receives dialysis four times a day, and it costs a lot despite his health insurance coverage.
Younger brother Jun-hwan went through operation for hereditary heart abnomality last month at the Bucheon Sejong General Hospital. Eight-year-old Jun-hwan still goes to kindergarten even though he needs to be enrolled at school.
To make the matters worse, their dad passed away last year while working in the construction area. Their mother is raising both of them alone.
She is unable to have a job and only takes care of her sons at home, because Seong-hwan has to receive dialysis four times a day.
The New Life Welfare Foundation donated one million won to this family even though the amount is not much, wishing the donation to be a little comfort to them. The two brothers’ mother thanked the Foundation, saying that she was living without losing hope despite daily hardships because her children were with her and her neighbors gave them love.
Although many people are leading enriched and abundant lives, there are still people who need our help around us. We hope that our little help can make this community happier and more joyful.
