This is the Rafael Uribe Uribe Educational Institution located in Primero de Mayo, Pereira, Risaralda, Colombia. While the school serves 250 students aged 3 to 10, conducting classes smoothly was a challenge due to outdated educational equipment and facilities.

Old desks, chairs and a broken TV

The students, being young, had a high proportion of audiovisual lessons, but the television was outdated with a small screen, which led to decreased focus during the classes. Additionally, two classrooms had non-functional TVs.

To discuss how to address these challenges, WeLoveU held a meeting with the city mayor and officials from the municipal office of education at the Pereira City Hall, and decided to support the school with new audiovisual devices.

On November 30, WeLoveU members donated three large educational televisions to the Rafael Uribe Uribe School at Primero de Mayo, supporting children’s bright future.

City education officials, school staff, and parents attended the donation ceremony and expressed their heartfelt gratitude for WeLoveU’s support.

In the Certificate of Appreciation presented to Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, the city education commissioner and the school principal said, “We are very proud that we have cooperated with WeLoveU to revitalize audiovisual education.”

“I would like to thank Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah for providing us with audiovisual devices that our children can use. I look forward to more cooperation with organizations like WeLoveU for a better future of students.”

Liliana Yezmin Zapata Alvarez, Commissioner of City Education Office of Pereira

“Today’s donation is a great help as it enables children to better understand educational content. I’m very happy that the wonderful work of WeLoveU’s Chairwoman, carried out with love, has reached our school and our children. I will make great use of these in our classes.”

Olga Lucia Arias Pérez, Principal

The students, too, welcomed the WeLoveU members with joy. Some of them presented handwritten letters to express their gratitude. The members also had a happy time, recording the video of the children shouting, “We love you.”

WeLoveU will continue to support essential educational equipment to schools in various regions, fostering an academic environment filled with the joy of learning.
