Intl. WeLoveU Foundation Donates USD 20,000 to Embassy of Jordan in Korea

On February 6, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation delivered 20,000 USD to the Embassy of Jordan to help Syrian refugees who had flooded into Jordan.

The fund delivery ceremony was held at the “Dinner Meeting with Foreign Embassies in Seoul, Korea, for the Exchange of Views on Global Welfare Activities,” which was held around 6 p.m. at Grand Hyatt Seoul Hotel. Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation, who hosted this ceremony, explained the aim of the event, saying, “Everybody seems to have a hard time these days. So, in this new year 2017, I want to continue to encourage the people of the global village who are suffering from disasters, diseases, and wars. I hope that this meeting will be able to contribute even a little to the peace and well-being of mankind.”

Next, Chairwoman Zahng gave a donation of USD 20,000 to H.E. Adel Mohammad Adaileh, Ambassador of Jordan to Korea. Ambassador Adaileh expressed his gratitude to the Foundation on behalf of Jordan and Syrian refugees, saying, “I thank the Chairwoman of the WeLoveU Foundation and the members for helping Syrian refugees and their society with a mother’s unconditional love,” and also said, “It is a touching experience to watch the WeLoveU Foundation give hope and strength to Syrian refugees who are suffering psychological trauma. This sign of love will give great help to the people in despair.”

About 30 ambassadors from around 20 countries who were present at the meeting expressed their support and cooperation for the Foundation’s international relief efforts. H.E. Oscar Herrera Gilbert, Ambassador of Ecuador to Korea, explained how greatly the WeLoveU Foundation helped the victims when the earthquake occurred in Ecuador last year, and said, “I was so thankful that we were able to help about 70,000 victims with the help of the WeLoveU Foundation. I hope that the Foundation will continue to work with our embassy and seek the best way to help people in need.”

According to the 2015 annual report of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees [UNHCR], Syria, which is suffering from a civil war, is the country with the highest number of refugees with four million refugees. H.E. Adaileh, Ambassador of Jordan, appealed, saying, “Jordan needs help from the international society as its available resources such as water, energy, finance, and civil infrastructure are running low.”

Taking this aid for Syrian refugees as an opportunity, it is expected that the work of the WeLoveU Foundation to help neighbors in hardships around the world will spread wider.
