The Ministry of Health of Chile has strengthened preventative measures against COVID-19 because the likelihood of the spread of COVID-19 has increased as more people contact one another around the end of the year and the beginning of the New Year. In the whole region of Santiago, the capital city of the country, level 2 quarantine was declared on December 10. It is impossible to move around among regions, movie theatres and gyms are banned, and at restaurants people can have food only outside on the terrace.

The first case of COVID-19 broke out on March 3. Since then, the coronavirus has been spiraling out of control. With increasing numbers of people falling victim to COVID-19, the Ministry of Health of Chile is rushing to control the spread of the virus around the end of the year and the beginning of the New Year.
