Cleanup Carried Out in Eight States

The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation and U.S. home construction company Power Home Remodeling [PHR] have partnered to tackle climate change through environmental conservation initiatives. Members of WeLoveU in the United States and PHR employees collaborated on a joint cleanup effort across eight states.

On November 21, cleanup efforts were undertaken in six states: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. On December 5 and 12, Clean WORLD Movement activities were carried out in Florida and Georgia, respectively. Approximately 600 members from WeLoveU and Power Home Remodeling participated in the eighth round of cleanups, collecting around 3.5 metric tons of garbage from streets, parks, beaches, and other areas.

Cheers for WeLoveU's Clean WORLD Movement Echoed

Volunteers dedicated approximately 2 hours to raking and gathering fallen branches and leaves strewn across the ground, in addition to removing weeds. They diligently picked up long-standing litter such as paper, plastic, and vinyl. The teamwork was essential in hauling away larger waste items like various metals, tires, mattresses, and carpets, requiring considerable sweat and effort. During the cleanup efforts around Chester High School in Pennsylvania, weed eaters were employed to clear weed piles and uncover buried trash for collection.

The local residents cheered loudly. Passersby in cars honked their horns and waved, while some approached the volunteers to express their gratitude. During the cleanup of the Indian Creek Trail in Greenbelt, Maryland, nearby restaurants showed appreciation by inviting volunteers for meals. At South Amboy Raritan Bay Waterfront in New Jersey, around 20 residents also joined in the activities.

Rick Thompson, the park manager who assisted with the cleanup at Ceylon Park in Boston, Massachusetts, expressed his delight, saying, “WeLoveU has been helping us here for six years, always volunteering fantastically. They’re a group I personally really love.” He happily described his experience with WeLoveU.

Employees from Power Home Remodeling also expressed their joy in volunteering. One employee who participated in the cleanup at Courtney Campbell Causeway Beach in Clearwater, Florida, on December 5, said, “Love makes everything possible. That’s why the name ‘WeLoveU’ resonates strongly. I believe that by expressing love through actions like WeLoveU does, we can change the world.”

Similarly, Andre Dickens, the mayor-elect who participated in the cleanup at Rodney Cook Senior Park in Atlanta, Georgia, on December 12, praised WeLoveU’s efforts, saying, “This is the way to a clean city. Thanks to your efforts, many people will be able to enjoy this beautiful park freely.”

The joint cleanup of the two organizations were covered by over 20 American media outlets, attracting attention. With the accumulation of small interests and participation in environmental protection activities, we anticipate a beautiful future ahead. WeLoveU will continue its efforts for climate change response, engaging more individuals in the process.
