The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation held a large-scale environmental cleanup last June when World Environment Day (June 5) was commemorated. It was carried out as a part of the Clean World Movement to raise environmental awareness and to cope with climate change.

In India, it was held on the 17th. An estimated 480 members, their families, neighbors and acquaintances cleaned up Pimpri-Chinchwad in Pune. Due to a floating population, excessive trash accumulated in this area. The City of Pimpri-Chinchwad expressed its appreciation by offering cleaning vehicles, cleaning supplies, drinks, and handcarts. The volunteers cleaned the area of 2 km for an hour, collecting garbage, plastic bottles, paper, vinyl, and clothes. What was collected became as large as a mountain in a large open space.

The WeLoveU Foundation purifies cities, parks, mountains, seas, and rivers and so on, holding environmental campaigns and education every year. These activities contribute to the preservation of the environment, the foundation of human welfare, by responding to climate change that threatens lives of humankind. Their initiative also corresponds to the UN SDGs.
