Proclamation
Whereas, the International WeLoveU Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by Chairwoman Zahng Gil-Jah in 2001, and in less than two decades, it is now carrying out good works in more than 50 countries across the world; and
Whereas, the International WeLoveU Foundation promotes unity and friendship among all people of the global village—beyond nationality, race, religion, and socioeconomic status—through impactful initiatives carried out with the heart of a mother; and
Whereas, the volunteers of the International WeLoveU Foundation carried out an environmental cleanup in the Township of North Bergen on Sunday, June 3, 2018 between 74th Street and Tonnelle Avenue. Volunteers collected more than 1,500 pounds of debris including garbage, metals, bottles, television sets, and wooden boards; and
Whereas, the International WeLoveU Foundation's community service activity falls under their Clean WORLD Movement—a worldwide campaign that raises awareness about the importance of environmental protection in the face of climate change; and
Whereas, the International WeLoveU Foundation recently delivered 3,000 solar-powered lanterns to vocational students in Port-au-Prince, Haiti to empower students to succeed under their new initiative called The Bright-Haiti Project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that NICHOLAS J. SACCO, MAYOR OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH BERGEN, and the entire Board of Commissioners, do hereby declare the respect and admiration to Chairwoman Zahng Gil-Jah and the International WeLoveU Foundation. We offer them our thanks and appreciation, and wish them much success all the years to come.
