Proclamation
WHEREAS, with the belief, "The foundation of happy lives starts from a clean environment," the International WeLoveU Foundation is strongly involved in constant environmental activity; and
WHEREAS, on Sunday May 22, 2016, more than 350 local volunteers from the International WeLoveU Foundation in San Diego and Santee, joined together to participate in "Clean Day" as part of their Worldwide Clean WORLD Movement to clean a large section of Forester Creek in Santee; and
WHEREAS, volunteers provided over 1,000 hours of community service resulting in the removal of approximately 10 tons of trash, contaminated materials and debris from the riverbed and surrounding areas along Forester Creek; and
WHEREAS, volunteers came together in unity and participated in this event to show love to their neighbors and let them know that they truly care about our community and the people who live in it; and
WHEREAS, all of the volunteers, following the example of Chairwoman, Zahng Gil-Jah are concerned about the world we live in and believe what is truly needed in our society is a warm heart, that is, love.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Randy Voepel, Mayor of the City of Santee, on behalf of the City Council do hereby proclaim August 10, 2016 as
“INTERNATIONAL WELOVEU FOUNDATION DAY”
in the city of Santee to help raise awareness of the important cause led by Chairwoman, Zahng Gil-Jah and importance of keeping our environment clean and to help leave a more beautiful world to live in.
IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this tenth day of August, two thousand sixteen, and have caused the Official Seal of the City of Santee to be affixed.
