Proclamation from the Superintendent of the Union City Board of Education, U.S.

Recognizing the philanthropic work of the International WeLoveU Foundation

WHEREAS, the International WeLoveU Foundation, founded in 2001 by Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah, operates in over 73 countries as an NGO associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications, working diligently to support the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDG2); and

WHEREAS, through its Packs on Backs & Tools for Schools program, WeLoveU has provided over 65,000 backpacks and essential school supplies to thousands of students, ensuring they have the tools needed for an inclusive and quality education, in alignment with SDG 4; and

WHEREAS, on September 9, 2024, WeLoveU volunteers supported kindergarten students at Washington Elementary School with backpacks and school supplies. Their volunteerism reinforces its belief that every student can achieve their full potential when equipped with the necessary resources; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that I, Superintendent Silvia Abbato and the Union City Board of Education, recognize, honor, commend and congratulate the International WeLoveU Foundation and its volunteers for their tireless efforts and positive impact on our community, ensuring that the next generation is prepared for academic success and a brighter future.
