Proclamation from Mayor of Maywood in the U.S.

WHEREAS the International WeLoveU Foundation (WeLoveU) is a non-governmental organization established in South Korea in 2001, and is formally associated with the United Nations Department of Global Communications since 2018

WHEREAS WeLoveU’s Founder and Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah’s passion and concern for others sparked nearly 300,000 volunteers in more than 50 countries to serve their communities and share a mother’s love by focusing on six key areas: Education, Emergency Relief, Environmental Protection, Health, International Aid, and Social Welfare

WHEREAS in January 2021, WeLoveU launched a national blood donation campaign, as swift response to the dire need for blood caused by the coronavirus pandemic that will impact the lives of numerous patients and their families across the U.S.

WHEREAS on Sunday, January 17, 2021, the International WeLoveU Foundation hosted the safest and largest single-day blood drive in the City of Los Angeles at Banc of California Stadium, with more than 580 blood donors that can save more than 1,740 lives

WHEREAS WeLoveU has been carrying out Worldwide Blood Drives since 2004, spanning across six continents and engaging more than 37,000 participants to donate blood to save lives

WHEREAS the City of Maywood also celebrates and recognizes Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah’s 20 years of public service and honors her humanitarianism that enlightens citizens to practice love for humanity and inspire world peace with a mother’s heart
