In Togo, Africa, where families often have many children, financial difficulties
frequently prevent them from sending all their children to school.

Given these circumstances, pursuing higher education becomes even more
challenging. In particular, students from disadvantaged backgrounds
often forgo their university education, even if they are accepted
into affordable public universities, due to the inability to pay the entrance fee.

The annual tuition at Togo National University
is typically 25,000 CFA Francs, (approx. 40 USD).

To ensure that students in Togo have access to education, WeLoveU
has stepped in to provide support. After discussions with officials
from Aflao-Gakli City Hall (Gulf 5) in the DAGL of the Maritime Region,
WeLoveU decided to award scholarships covering one year of tuition
to students from vulnerable households admitted to the national university.

On November 15, a scholarship award ceremony was held at City Hall,
where students arrived with eager anticipation. That day, WeLoveU provided
scholarships to 72 first-year students at the University of Lomé through City Hall.
The mayor, who attended the ceremony, expressed gratitude to WeLoveU
and called for continued collaboration.

Kossi Agbenyega Aboka, Mayor of Aflao-Gakli

“You’ve sown the seeds of humanity here. These students will be the leaders of tomorrow, serving as key pillars in shaping the future of society. Blessings to you, WeLoveU.”

WeLoveU members encouraged the students to keep the lamp of learning
burning brightly and grow into wise and knowledgeable leaders.

WeLoveU’s educational support, which fosters students’ learning
and the development of local talent, will continue.
