“Delivering the love of a mother” with donation of 1,412 comforters to 61 local governments
Ahead of the Lunar New Year 2022, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation set out to support underprivileged neighbors without fail. In response to the forecast that this winter will be colder than average and that there will be frequent severe cold spells, the WeLoveU prepared warm and cozy comforters as gifts for the holiday.

Honorary Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah double checked the supplies to be delivered to neighbors, saying, “In many cases, families in difficult circumstances endure cold winters with old comforters. It is not so easy to change comforters once they are purchased, so we prepared light and warm comforters. I hope all of them have a healthy and hopeful New Year, feeling warmth like that of a mother’s arms.”

WeLoveU members all over Korea donated 1,412 comforters to 61 local governments in Seoul, Gyeonggi, Incheon, Chungcheong, Jeolla, Gyeongsang, Gangwon, and Jeju from January 17 to 30. Officials from government offices responded that they would use the donated supplies to help the underprivileged in their jurisdiction. Gu Jeong-seo, Head of Chowol-eup, Gwangju-si, said, “I’d like to give thanks to you for giving warmth to our neighbors in difficult circumstances.” Byeon Gwang-yong, Mayor of Geoje, said, “I will deliver the donated supplies to our neighbors in difficult circumstances so that they can have a rich holiday.”

In Buk-gu, Daegu, WeLoveU members donated the comforters directly to recipient families. An elderly woman welcomed the members, and she spread the comforter out and felt the texture of it with her hands, being moved to tears. She said that she had used a summer comforter until recently, and she held on tight to the members’ hands, saying, “Today I received a comforter and also love as well. Thank you so, so much.” The members hoped that the elderly neighbor would spend a great holiday and get through the cold winter with no problems.
The WeLoveU’s sharing of love will continue every year so that everyone can have a warm and pleasant holiday.
