On Chuseok(Hangawi) this year, the sun, the earth, and the moon were in a straight line, and so the largest and roundest full moon rose in the last hundred years. The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation (hereinafter referred to as the “WeLoveU”) volunteered to help their neighbors in need, hoping to give smiles on the faces of neighbors like the full moon shining brightly in the night sky.
The WeLoveU provided 1,400 boxes of groceries to vulnerable households from August 31 to September 14 through 61 local governments in Korea. They packed each box with beef seaweed soup, chicken soup, loach soup, and pumpkin porridge that you can warm up and eat, and other ingredients such as soy bean paste, soft bean curd soup base, ramen, and glass noodles. Hoping that the neighbors would have a bountiful holiday, they donated the groceries with the heart of a mother who cooks with all her heart and satisfies her family’s hunger and empty hearts.
On the 5th day, a few days before Hangawi, strong winds blew and it rained heavily throughout the country due to the influence of Typhoon Hinnamnor. Even during the rainy days, the members were busy delivering gifts before the national holiday. After donating supplies to the local governments, some members even went out to meet their neighbors in person despite the rain. It was because they wanted to deliver love and holiday greetings by visiting them. The neighbors were greatly moved by the members who visited despite the typhoon and shared love with them.
Officials from local governments and other organizations that received the supplies and delivered them to the neighbors too expressed their gratitude for the WeLoveU’s constant support, and commended the WeLoveU’s activities.
