Share Hope With Bright and Joyful Smile
On December 3, the New Life Welfare Foundation donated kimchi for our neighbors in need at Namsan Social Welfare Center in Daegu.
The official Lee Yeong-seon from Voluntary Service Division at Daegu City Hall and the New Life Welfare Foundation members delivered kimchi to senior citizens living alone and parentless households so that they could have a warm winter. They visited a shabby room of an elderly woman who collected deserted boxes and papers as a means of living. Then, they visited a third-grade student Song-yi living with her grandmother in a poor village.
They welcomed the members, and it made them feel more compassionate towards them. The head of welfare association Shin Sang-yun unsparingly complimented the New Life Welfare Foundation, saying, “Today I came to know that the New Life Welfare Foundation served hot meals to the bereaved families when the Daegu subway tragedy occurred.

The official Lee Yeong-seon said that she was greatly moved by the New Life Welfare Foundation when they served the bereaved families suffering from the subway disaster for record-breaking 55 days, and that she would positively support the foundation’s future volunteer activities. The members said that they would not only serve the underprivileged people whom even the government’s support did not reach, but also run wherever their help was needed at anytime.
Although people are only pursuing their own success and happiness rather than sharing and giving, it was a valuable time for the members to share hope with their neighbors in despair.
