On November 2, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation donated 20 million won to the Republic of Korea National Red Cross (hereinafter Korean Red Cross) for helping the socially vulnerable group of people cope with COVID-19 pandemic in Korea. Baek Ok-suk, the Director of the Financial Aid Headquarters of the Korean Red Cross expressed gratitude to the WeLoveU for the donation, saying, “The donation will be meaningfully used to provide quarantine supplies and daily necessities to the socially vulnerable group of people who aren’t well-prepared to deal with disasters.”
COVID-19 pandemic has been ongoing for almost about a year, and preventive measures, including social distancing, has become part of our daily routine. In response to this, the WeLoveU has been carrying out various relief efforts, such as providing quarantine supplies and distance learning tools, and donating blood in many different countries such as the U.S., Laos, and Ecuador, starting with donating face masks to a region in Daegu in February of the year. The WeLoveU plans to broaden their support options in partnership with organizations and government agencies in various countries as well as the Korean Red Cross for their neighbors to spend time in safety amidst COVID-19 pandemic.
