One month has passed since the passenger plane crash occurred at Muan International Airport on December 29 last year, as citizens continue to mourn. While funeral procedures for the victims have concluded, the bereaved families who have not been able to say goodbye to their loved ones, along with officials and volunteers, remain at the airport amid ongoing investigations.

From February 5 to 7, around 90 WeLoveU members from the Honam region prepared and served warm, heartfelt meals to comfort the bereaved families who had been physically and emotionally exhausted after spending long hours at the airport, and to encourage the on-site staff and volunteers.

They served more than 600 portions of nutritious dishes, including soybean paste soup with cabbage, braised short ribs, spicy pork stir-fry, and japchae (stir-fried glass noodles with vegetables).

WeLoveU members expressed their hope that no one would miss a meal, and that a warm dish might bring some small measure of comfort to cold and weary hearts.

Amid heavy snowfall and biting winds, the fatigue and sorrow of the bereaved and staff were visibly evident. Still, seeing visitors enjoy a warm and hearty meal brought the volunteers a sense of relief. They attentively ensured that everyone was well cared for, checking for additional needs and providing thoughtful service.

Just as a mother brings comfort and strength when her family is weary and burdened, WeLoveU aims to comfort and uplift the global family with a mother’s love.
