“Welcome, children! Please choose a book you like.”

In the library of Vernon Hill Elementary School,
WeLoveU members warmly greeted students,
inviting them to explore a display of more than 1,000 books.

It was a special day—each student would receive a book as a gift,
one they could enjoy reading freely throughout the summer vacation.

The children’s faces lit up as they embraced the books
they had personally chosen.

“I’m so happy because I found a book I really love.”

“This is so exciting! I’ve already read it once, but I want to read it again.”

“I’m so happy I get to keep this book and don’t have to return it to the library.”

Massachusetts State Senators Michael Moore and Robyn Kennedy
attended the event and spent time reading aloud to lower elementary students,
creating a memorable and meaningful experience.

Teachers expressed their deep gratitude to WeLoveU members,
noting that the gift of books brought genuine joy and excitement to the children.

Craig Dottin, Principal of Vernon Hill School

“I hope our students will read more books, have more conversations with their families, and become more engaged and confident in all they do. Throughout this summer, we will carry forward the momentum for reading that you have created.”

WeLoveU will continue to support children’s dreams
through ongoing book donations.

P.S.

On June 12, members of the Eastern U.S. Chapter of the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation
(Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah) gifted 1,017 books to 470 students
at Vernon Hill Elementary School. This initiative was carried out
to encourage children to read over the summer break and to help close
the literacy and academic achievement gap among students.
It was sponsored by Barnes & Noble a major U.S. bookstore chain.
