Provide 50 test kits to Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility for preventing the spread of COVID-19 at the presidential inauguration

The presidential inauguration for President of Ecuador Guillermo Lasso was held on May 24. Presidents and high-ranking officials from each country congratulated him on becoming President of Ecuador, while adhering to COVID-19 preventive measures. Officials from Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility also participated in this event. They all got tested for COVID-19 through the test kits in order to prevent the spread of the virus. The test kits were provided by the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation to the Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility through the Ecuadorian Red Cross.

The beginning of the relationship between the WeLoveU and the Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility traces back to 2016 when the great earthquake occurred in Ecuador. During the year, the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation in Korea helped out the Ecuadorian earthquake victims. By holding the 17th New Life Family Walkathon, the WeLoveU promised to donate 50,000 USD for the victims. Ecuadorian Ambassador to Korea participated in the walkathon, and expressed gratitude to the WeLoveU for delivering life and hope to his people suffering from the disaster. In August of that year, the WeLoveU chapter in Quito, Ecuador, provided kitchen supplies and daily necessities to the earthquake victims as they had promised.

Last year, the fatality rate of COVID-19 in Ecuador soared, worsening its impact. The WeLoveU provided 1,000 test kits and 20,000 face masks to Ecuador Ministry of Health and Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility in partnership with the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea. The Intl. WeLoveU Foundation in Korea also signed a letter of intent [LOI] with the Ecuadorian Embassy in Korea on May 13 of last year. The promise was fulfilled in August; the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility and officials from each department participated in the donation ceremony. In this way, the relationship between the WeLoveU chapter in Quito, Ecuador, and officials from Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility continued.

Officials from Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility remembered the WeLoveU in the midst of a situation where they had to conduct testing for COVID-19 before the presidential inauguration, and request 50 COVID-19 test kits as they had trust in the WeLoveU. So, on May 21, a few days before the presidential inauguration, the WeLoveU helped with preventing the spread of COVID-19 by donating the test kits to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility via Ecuadorian Red Cross.

The Vice Minister of Ecuador Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility invited Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah to Ecuador

About one week later, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Human Mobility held a meeting in regard to NGO activities. In the meeting, Vice Minister César Montaño Huerta expressed gratitude for the test kits that were provided for preventing the spread of the virus at the presidential inauguration.

The Vice Minister said, “On behalf of all the Ecuadoreans and all the departments of Ecuadorian government, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Intl. WeLoveU Foundation for her generosity.” He expected constant work with the WeLoveU, and politely said, “Through this opportunity, I would like to invite Chairwoman Zahng Gil-jah to Ecuador, and her visit will be a great honor for us all.”

No matter how far away their neighbors ask for help, the WeLoveU provide support to them, and it was possible because they volunteered with the love of a mother. If you keep your promise and volunteer with sincerity, your relationship with others becomes strengthened and deepened. Since the WeLoveU members are well aware that they can bring greater happiness to even more people through their sincere relationship, they continue to work today, too.
