Governments and major international organizations around the world have identified environmental issues as a critical priority. Growing amounts of waste and other environmental challenges across the globe are threatening future generations’ right to a healthy environment and humanity’s ability to enjoy happy and fulfilling lives.
In response to these pressing challenges, WeLoveU has been conducting its International WeLoveU School Global Citizenship Environmental Education program to foster a shared sense of responsibility for waste issues, help participants grow into global citizens who care for the environment and take action to protect it, and promote a clean, waste-free culture. Through the “Clean WORLD Movement: Emptying the Earth’s Trash Can” program, WeLoveU has encouraged participants to recognize the global environment as the foundation of our lives and to take action together to protect our beautiful planet.
In recognition of its outstanding achievements and educational value, the program, conducted from August 2024 through February 2026, was officially designated as an Excellent Environmental Education Program by the Republic of Korea’s Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment on June 1 (Designation No. 2026-035).
What Is the “Excellent Environmental Education Program Designation System”?
It is a national system that evaluates environmental education programs on environmental soundness, quality, and safety, and officially designates outstanding programs.
The designation is particularly meaningful because it represents national-level recognition of both the professional quality and practical applicability of the environmental education curriculum that WeLoveU has developed and implemented over the years. Surveys of program participants also showed that more than 95% responded positively regarding both satisfaction with the program and its educational effectiveness. These results reflect the strong response to an educational approach that goes beyond classroom learning by giving participants opportunities to take part directly in environmental protection activities.

Protecting the Planet Together With Youth
Building on the recognition of its program as an Excellent Environmental Education Program by the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Environment, WeLoveU is launching its environmental education program for middle and high school students through its branches across Korea in July and August. Led by professional environmental education instructors, the program gives young people opportunities to learn about environmental issues, participate directly in environmental protection activities, and turn what they learn into meaningful action.
WeLoveU will continue expanding opportunities for more young people to learn the value of protecting the environment and put what they learn into practice in their daily lives through its government-designated Excellent Environmental Education Program. WeLoveU will also continue working alongside people around the world to help ensure that everyone can build a happy future in a clean and healthy environment.
