I am writing to thank the We Love You Foundation and its volunteers for the post-flood litter clean up undertaken on Sunday 12 June, 2022 along Oxley Creek at Simpsons Playground, Graceville.

Oxley Creek is Brisbane’s longest creek and one of the main tributaries of the Brisbane River. The Oxley Creek catchment includes the Tennyson Ward suburbs of Corinda, Oxley, Sherwood and Tennyson. The green space along the creek, including Simpsons Playground, is habitat for local flora and fauna and is an important part of our local ecosystem.

The We Love You Foundation’s efforts to remove litter and flood debris from Simpsons Playground are much-appreciated and a valuable contribution to maintaining the health of the Oxley Creek catchment.

On behalf of our local community, I thank the We Love You Foundation volunteers for their work to keep our environment clean.
